Sometimes it’s necessary to convert a DVD movie into a different file format. DVD movies are composed of several VOB files, each of them at least a gigabyte in size. Many people format a hard drive only to realize that they need some of the files that were on the disk. Thankfully, formatted data recovery is possible using freely available tools, and this post show how.

Data recovery is one of the simpler home PC repair tasks that most users can attempt for themselves. Formatted data recovery is possible because the process does not clear the data clusters from the disk’s memory. What it actually does is mark these clusters available for saving any new documents, which will in due course begin overwriting the formatted data.

The process of recovering formatted data is quite simple:

First, if you used a formatting process that included a data cleansing or data wiping stage to its sweep of the drive then this will have overwritten the large majority of data clusters with blank/random files and your old files will be gone.

Secondly, the more you use a formatted drive, then the more new files will begin writing over your old data.

Formatted data recovery is by no means going to be successful 100% of the time. As a result, it is prudent to make backup copies (e.g. burning copies to CD) to really safeguard your data prior to formatting.

To copy a piece of text in any of the 3 programs, the text is selected, and then copied to the clipboard (the memory of the computer). The copy command is done through either clicking on the Copy button, using the shortcut CTRL C or right clicking on the selected (highlighted) test or choosing Copy from the sub-menu.

This text can then be pasted into another place in the same document or into another document using one of the other Microsoft programs. Pasting is achieved by clicking where you want the text in the document, and then either clicking on the Paste button, using the shortcut CTRL V or right clicking on the selected (highlighted) test or choosing Paste from the sub-menu.

The new Kindle DX graphite is better than the rest of the Kindle family.  With its new E-ink display there is a huge improvement in its contrast.  You can see this improvement by the clarity of the crisp text and the darker blacks of graphics and the words. The blacks actually look black and rather than the dingy gray on the original Kindle DX.  In looking  more black it helps the words jump right off the page, which means that your reading becomes a lot easier.

The Kindle DX Graphite has a lighter, more solid background to its E-ink display, which augments the lighting.  The original DX looks to have a certain pattern like a newspaper, but the new Graphite is lighter in color and creates less of a pattern.  When you look at them side by side it looks like Amazon’s claims of a higher-contrast display is true.  The Amazon Kindle DX continues to excel on making your reading experience a lot more pleasurable.

The appearance is a little different as well.  The new Kindle DX is in a dark gray case, rather than a off-white case.  I feel that it has enhanced my reading experience by having the darker boarder.  With the darker boarder it seems like it has been easier on my eyes.  It could also help that it has a superior display than the earlier models of the Kindle.

By continually making it more affordable than other E-ink-based e-readers it makes it a more attractive option.  I know that I try and saving money where I can and since I do a lot more reading than anything else on a e-reader it makes sense to go with the Kindle DX.  They ever added Twitter and Facebook social network support, so you can highlight passages that you want to share with your friends.
