One of the best things about HDTV sets is that they tend to have many features that are aimed at improving the picture and the overall experience. While some of them are automatically activated whenever you are using the set some of them are made to be controlled by the user.
There are many of these features that are created to enhance the picture with the touch of a button. For example, Sony CineMotion. This feature use unique to Sony Bravia Series television sets, it is usually found in most top of the line products from this series. The idea behind it is to simulate the motion flow that can be experienced in movie theaters. For this reason this feature reduces the amount of frames per seconds when activated to the same amount of frames per second that is used in movie theaters. Features like these are good for movie fans that want to get that theater feel in their living rooms.
Other features do quite the opposite, but instead increase the refresh rate and some times the amount of frames per second so the picture appears to move more real. This sometimes produces what some call the “soap opera effect”. There are mixed opinions about this “soap opera effect” some like it while others hate it. The thing is that if you don’t like how the set looks when you turn on any of these features you can quickly deactivate them. Others that are automatically activated cannot be turned off but they tend to subtle and are usually aimed at creating a better picture and not an effect.
If you are looking to buy an HDTV set be sure to check the features that it has. Some of them are very good while others do not live up to the hype. If you want to learn more about features and HD Tv sets be sure to check out this site: Faq HDTV.
