Steps to Make a Website

Rome was not built in one day, neither was a web page. Before you make a website, you need to realize that this is not something you can easily put together. A webpage consist of content, advertising, SEO and much more. In order to create your site correctly and make it visible to other search engines, then you need to have the right tips.

To start with, you need to think of the niche or the pages main goal. If you are making an online web store, you should be thinking of what PHP program you want to use or if you want to use regular HTML. Of course, PHP creates HTML easier by creating html quicker and helps users create the site with a few clicks of a button. If you plan on making a service page, you should also look into PHP or the HTML structure.

Next, you need to create the page before adding it to your server. This will prevent your site from being added into the search engine before it is complete. You can use any web design program to create an HTML website, but if it’s PHP, you need to make it on your local computer, before uploading the php files on the server.

Before you go and place it on the server, you need to think about some content. Article content is the most important part of a website. This helps search engines find information on your pages. Web content can be bought on the Internet from freelance writers or from SEO consultants.

Once you have everything complete, you can upload the files on your server through FTP. FTP clients can easily be downloaded on the Internet. Most FTP programs are free and easy to use or you can use the FTP client on your Cpanel from your host provider.

How to Design a Great Website

Designing a website is never an easy venture, more so because of the advancement of web design tools that make it easy to use such tools and features as interactive graphics, multimedia, flash elements and fascinating color schemes and layouts. Before you load all features you come across on your site, you must stop and think: what effect will they have on your visitors? The best design is not always the one with the brightest colors and fancy graphics, the best websites are those that are easy to use, professional and simple to navigate. How do you make such a site?

a) First, you need to select a color scheme that identifies with your company or product and stick to it. A good start will be to choose the dominant colors based on your company or product recognition and policy and then select those that match to go with it. Do not use scary colors, those with too high contrast or those that make reading text almost impossible.

b) Unless you are an experienced web design Northern Ireland company and can get around designing websites easily, I suggest that you use existing templates to make a website. There are many pre-set designs and templates you can choose from. They come as a part of your web design program or you can get them from the many websites online offering them for free or at a small fee. The good thing with templates is that you will choose one based on what you want your website to appear like upon completion.

c) Include a navigation system that will make it easy for your visitors to get around the site and know where they are, and how to get to different sections of the page at all times. This is one of the most important things you have to consider when designing your website.

d) There are many special effects available for you to use but it does not mean you have to use them. Remember that the website should be able to load fast and must be presentable and very professional looking.

e) All the texts on your website should be easy to read, the background should not get in the way of readability. In the same breath, the fonts you use and the layout of the site should be presentable and not too distracting.

These are some of the most important things to bear in mind when designing a website.

It is a great website design that gives an online presence all the backing it needs to get attention. Part of a productive and good quality presence online is the creation of a memorable website design that has its own presence and voice. Effective and great website design involves certain factors and some of these factors extend to usability, navigations and a certain page time loading that is efficient. All great websites should not only be something that is pleasing to the eye and mind. It should also be something that has ease of usage, be able to load fast, and work as correctly as is humanly possible. There is nothing as dangerous to a potential site which is difficult to travel through foremost. Secondly, a site that only loads partially, gives off 404 errors and does not display at it should.

All The Things That Make A Good Web Design Good

1. Visual Appeal
One of the vital things that make a website great is its overall visual appeal to others. There are some essential elements which work together as a whole that gives a website its visual appeal. Some of these elements include fonts, logos, and colors and imagery.  Without all of these elements blended as one. A website is not able to have a look that is consistent and a feel about it. Visual appeal can only be created with links that are identifiable, graphics that are crisp and clear, and finally. An array of colors that not only enhance but capture the eye to the main things about the site in particular. It doesn’t matter if the web design is simple or more advanced. The most important aspect is that a website get the eye because of its overall look and feel.

2. Usefulness
After you have fully developed the visual appeal for your site. The next thing a designer must handle is to insure that said site is both usable and functional. Everything should be in the place that it should be such as the links and the buttons. They should not only be in the right place but working properly too. Scripts should also executed the right way if they are embedded on a page to function. This is because the site’s visitors must able to access the pages correctly. Any website design that is good is something that more than matches what visitors do need and expect from a good website.

3. Arrangement
After the visual appeal and functionality have been established for a site. The next thing to do is to make the design organized in its own way and easy to navigate around. The manner employed to achieve this should be both meaningful and consistent. If a visitor is looking for information. It should be made available in places that are easy to get to and access as well. Things such as site maps, search boxes, and bread-crumbs are all aids to help the visitor locate the required information they seek. Techniques such as these also help the visitor to do specified tasks such as buying a product and or service. A particular site’s customers will not be satisfied at all if they cannot locate the items they wish to buy from the onset.

Anything that makes a good website good is something that goes beyond simply attractive. A working website is one that combines attractiveness with other facets such as workability, reliability, and ease of use for visitors around the clock. Online presence is something that is important in the society of today. Therefore, if a website is to be designed, it should be done so in good quality and not poorly.

What is Organic SEO?

Monday

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.  When using any of the three largest search engines, you will get two types of results for a search on any keyword term or phrase, paid SEO results and organic SEO results.  Paid SEO is very much what it sounds like.   Advertisers will bid on a keyword term to appear on Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).  Typically a SERP is divided into paid and organic results.  The paid results will be along the very top in shaded area, and left or right sides of the SERP.  Organic results will take up the largest part of the page.

Here is an example, I own a coffee business and I want an Internet user to find my site if they search for the term “ Atlanta Web Design “.  I am willing to pay the search engines companies .45 cents every time someone clicks on through to my site from their search engines.   Competitors are also bidding on this keyword, the highest bidder is paying .65 cents per click, and the next highest after that pays .40 cents.  My site should appear on the first page of search engine results on the “paid results” portion of the page, I should appear second from the top, just after the .65 cent bidder.   This example is not 100% accurate, as there are a few other factors that affect exactly where your paid listing appears, but it’s close enough for the purpose of understanding the concept.

If your site begins to receive hundreds of clicks a day, the costs can quickly begin to add up.  A much better solution is to gain a good organic listing.  Organic SEO listings are free regardless of how many times anyone clicks on through to your site.  Search engines will rank your site depending on the several factors, but the bottom line is that your site will be listed if it is deemed to be the best match for the keyword term for the search term.  These factors include, but are not limited to; URL, page title, number of backlinks and quality of content.

Good organic SEO results are much more difficult to attain that paid listings.  Hiring a quality Organic SEO Expert can be a very cost effective solution over the long term.  Achieving results for competitive keyword terms requires a good amount of work, expertise and can be costly, but paying per click for competitive terms can be much more expensive.  High bids on these competitive terms can be over $20 per click!

So, you have decided you want to build a website for your business, service or product. Well, good for you! The Internet is called the Information Superhighway, and for good reason! There are so many people you can reach online that you simply would not be able to offline – unless you have a few hundred million dollars for offline marketing in every city in the country and travelling around all the time!

The Internet brings to you the Global Marketplace. Find people in your state, city, country or in a country on the other side of the world. All these people wanting your service or product? This is sure to triple your chances of becoming the success you want to be! But, as you know, you need a website to introduce yourself and welcome your visitors.

You could very well do a website design yourself, but if you know next to nothing about designing, you should probably leave this to the professional web designers! They will incorporate a relevant design, content, and functionality that will make your website THE place to be! The designer will also optimize your website so that you can find people in your area to sell your service or product to.

One major suggestion when finding a designer to work with – make sure you find one in your location! While you might get a cheaper price from another country, you also might have a lot of language barriers to deal with. And when you are designing something as important as your website, you really do not need any extra added confusion to the mix!

Also, as the title says, you can also find other ways to populate your website as well – the website design is merely the icing on the cake! Other options to try; reliable hosting, further optimization of your website, social media optimization and posts, and of course marketing options like Bookmarking, Social Networks, Article Marketing & Blogging!

Above all, the website design should be the first thing on your business plan, everything else can come later on. But, in the meantime, the visual aspects of your website absolutely need to be put into play. You simply should not have an “Under Construction” sign on your website when someone comes to visit it – this is so unprofessional! Having an unavailable or unfinished website is almost as bad as handing a potential client a business card with coffee stains on it and dog-eared corners!

Stock images.  Why is it important to include them on your website?  What will you gain?  Picture this, you have a website with stellar writing, quotes from the most respected in your field.  Your mom has read it, she’s excited!  Even Dad gives you the thumbs up.  But when you put it on the web it looks drab, just black text on a plain white page.  No matter how good the information is that you’re sharing with your audience if it looks boring you’ll lose readers.  And who wants to lose readers?

What to do?  Here’s where stock images from online websites come in.  Stock images are photographs, including cartoon pictures, film clips and illustrations sold to the consumer for their own use.  Many stock images are used commercially.

There are many stock image companies on the web.  Some are small mom-and-pop type businesses while others are huge selling millions of images.  In fact, Bill Gates owns one of the biggest sites.  He’s been buying collections for years.  Some are delicate and valuable.  He houses those in Iron Mountain near Pennsylvania in a cave 200 ft. underground in a refrigerated area.

There are many types of images:  editorial, documentary, historic, etc.  In order to find just what you’re looking for, just what can enhance your site, stock image sites offer an easy to use search tool.  You can input date photographed, location, photographer, orientation like horizontal, panorama or vertical, point of view like aerial, from space, below or above.

There are all types of images to choose, from the most obscure to the plain.  For instance on one online stock image site there is a silly picture of dancing pink pigs.  You can also find there a woman in a mink posing at the front door of a rehab center.  Or you can find plain ol’ pictures of cars and lollipops and false teeth.

Images can be cheap to buy or very expensive.

So remember, if you are creating your own website, adding stock images just might be the way to go.  Have fun stocking up on those images!
